Chief Minister Charter School
A first for Sikkim, the Chief Minister Charter School project involves the transitioning of government schools into autonomous Charter Schools aligned with NEP 2020, emphasizing teacher development and holistic learning. The project is being implemented by PLF, in collaboration with Khelum Foundation. The initiative includes sports-focused support from Khelum Foundation and expert educators from Himalayan Teachers Professional Development Foundation, fostering a community-driven approach to education reform.
Baato Khoju
A Workshop for the Future of Gangtok
In December 2021, a transformative workshop unfolded in Gangtok, igniting conversations about the city’s future. Spearheaded by a diverse group of stakeholders, this event aimed to transcend boundaries, foster inclusivity, and pave the way for collective action. Baato Khoju was conceptualized by the Architects of Sikkim and delivered by Progressive Learning Foundation.
Turuk Ko Sallah
Allowing all voices to be heard
Inspired by the ‘Baato Khoju’ Workshop, a group of indivuduals embarked on a journey to facilitate change within the local community of Turuk in South Sikkim. With this vision, a one-day workshop aimed at shaping a vision for the village’s future was organized in 2022 which was facilitated by PLF.

Professional development of teachers is an intrinsic part of PLF where we conduct workshops for educators in different schools of Sikkim.
Sikkim Govt Teachers Training
A pandemic initiative
During the pandemic, PLF partnered with the Education Department of the Sikkim Government to conduct an online teacher training programme aimed at supporting Government teachers across the State to learn the usage of digital tools for conducting online classes.
